A Professional Transition

After more than 20 years writing for arts, retail, and cultural organizations, in 2025 I returned to graduate school to pursue a master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of Vermont.

My copywriting work has always revolved around listening, translation, and empathy. These skills turn out to be essential in counseling as well. What once helped me convey a brand’s story now helps me understand and support human ones.

I’m in the early stages of this new chapter: studying ethics, development, and theory while volunteering locally on restorative justice panels. My long-term focus is rural practice—helping individuals and communities navigate isolation, grief, and change with compassion and clarity.

I keep this page here partly for transparency, partly as a marker of continuity. The work may be different, but the through-line remains the same: curiosity, careful language, and deep respect for how people make meaning.
